The NDIS disability housing options offers different levels and types of support to enhance the quality of life for participants:
 Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA): This type of housing is designed for people with extreme functional impairments or very high support needs. SDA funding covers the cost of the housing itself, ensuring that it is accessible and meets the specific needs of the residents.
 Supported Independent Living (SIL): SIL is a type of support that helps individuals with disabilities live independently while receiving support with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care. This can be provided in shared living arrangements or individual homes.
 Short-Term Accommodation, Including Respite: This option provides temporary housing solutions, offering a break for both the individual and their usual carers. It’s an excellent way for participants to explore new living arrangements and for carers to
experience respite.
 Individual Living Options (ILO): ILO offers a flexible approach to housing, allowing participants to create tailored living arrangements. This can include living alone with support, host arrangements, or living with friends.
